DESCRIPTION

Certificate III in Barbering has been designed as a qualification for new entrants or existing workers in a hairdressing environment  to enter into work as a barber.

Training can be on the job or at the college in a salon setting, with a mix of practical work on clients, written work, workshops, and group discussion. Assessment includes theory work, demonstration of skills & participation in salon duties, written and or oral tests. All practical assessments will be required to be carried out on paying members of the public.

Cost:           Apprentices will receive funding according to Queensland Government funding contribution                             guidelines this will be discussed at time of enrolment. Qualified hairdressers contact the college                       to find out your options

PATHWAY

               SHB40216 Certificate IV in Hairdressing       

               SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management.  

At this level of barbering, duties include performing a broad range of barbering services to clients, interacting with customers and providing customer service, following workplace safety procedures, demonstrating effective  environment work practices, providing assistance to colleagues and developing barbering and hairdressing industry knowledge.

   SHBHTRI001 Identify and treat hair and scalp conditions

This is a practical qualification with a lot of hands-on assessment and mandatory hours that learners must complete before obtaining a successful completion of this qualification. All skills assessments will be required to be carried out on paying members of the public.
