SHB40121 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy

DESCRIPTION

Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy has been designed to reflect the role of individuals who are competent in a prescribed range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including facial massage, lash and brow treatments, nail services, eyelash extensions, make-up, waxing, body massage, body treatments and aromatherapy; as well as providing advice on and selling retail skin care and cosmetic products.
This qualification is designed to reflect the role of those who work relatively autonomously. It involves the performance of a broad range of skilled applications, including requirements to evaluate and analyse current practices, develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and some provision of leadership and guidance to others in the application and planning of skills.

Training can be on the job or at the college in a salon setting, with a mix of practical work on clients, written work, workshops, and group discussion. Assessment includes theory work, demonstration of skills & participation in salon duties, written and or oral tests. All practical assessments will be required to be carried out on paying members of the public.

                      SHB60118 Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction

               

Successful graduates from Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy course can become self-employed, work as beauty therapist specialising in waxing, tinting, manicure, facials, body treatments, pedicare and make-up or as a specialist in wedding or formal make-up.
